Beverley Blakeman – Director / Registered Care Manager
Hi, my name is Bev, I am the registered manager of Essential Health, and it is an honour to be so. I have too many years of experience to mention within the Health and Social care sector, but I would like to say that I am very proud of the united team we are. We all agree that our working ethos is to provide a service of bespoke care with passion, dignity, inclusion and respect.
I enjoy frequenting my caravan in Wales and exploring the stunning surroundings with my Husband. I am partial to a meal out with my friends and having a catch-up. I currently have 3 dogs who I love dearly. They are a mixed bunch consisting of a large Labrador, a medium Springer Spaniel and a miniature dachshund who all keep me on my toes. I enjoy most music; however, my favourite is Motown and Northern Soul. I have one son whom I am very proud of and who appears to be thriving in this world.
Paula Cheney – Quality Assurance Manager
Hello, my name is Paula, and I have been in the care sector for over 13 years. And I have found it a very privileged and rewarding role to support people in their own homes. I started as a care assistant and worked my way up to supervisor, then quality assurance manager; I have recently completed my Level 5 in Health and Social Care. I work with an amazing team of care assistants and office staff.
In my spare time, I like to read, listen to music, and go to concerts. I also look after three dogs when their owners go away.
Jason Halket – Liaison Manager
Hi, I’m Jason, the Liaison Manager at Essential Health. I spent 8 years working in Care in Stoke on Trent before I had the privilege of joining the management team alongside Bev and Paula. I am passionate about supporting our Team, which means that they can passionately support our clients. I believe we nurture the very best qualities through our whole team, and I am immensely proud to work with all the people I work with.
I love to read in my quiet time, Science Fiction and also History, especially the history of Stoke. I live with my wife, and we enjoy cooking together and planning our holidays. I have 4 grown-up children, a passion for collecting mechanical watches, strong coffee, and bacon & cheese oatcakes. My dream would be to take an around-the-world cruise. The best part of my job is listening to the stories that our amazing clients tell us; it’s living history.
Lucy Barlow – Content Creator/Admin
Hi, my name is Lucy, and I joined the Essential Health team in October 2024 to pursue my dream of working in content creation. As a Content Creator in the homecare field, my job is to capture and communicate the genuine heart that defines our service. I spend my days gathering stories, creating helpful resources, and creating content that reflects our core values. I get my motivation from the people I work alongside. Witnessing the daily dedication of our entire team is utterly amazing.
Outside of work, I follow my football team home and away with my Dad, and I’m a big lover of music and concerts that I attend with my Mum. I also love my car and driving to explore new places with my best friend. In addition to that, I love to travel and experience new places across the world.
